Ingo Peyker

Ingo Peyker (born September 8, 1941 in Groß Heidau ) is a former Austrian pole vaulter , long jumper and decathlete and sports scientist .

Career

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he did not succeed in qualifying in the pole vault .

He was Austrian champion five times in the pole vault (1966, 1968, 1971-1973) and three times in the long jump (1967, 1968, 1970) and in the decathlon (1966, 1967, 1972). In 1980 he became Austrian indoor champion in pole vault.

Peyker studied biology, education, sociology, philosophy and physical education. From 1983 he taught as an associate professor, later as a university professor for sports science with a special focus on sports theory at the Institute for Sports Science at the University of Graz . He published books on sports.
