Ingo "Inge" Schneider (born November 28, 1964 ) is a former German soccer player in midfield.

Career

Schneider began his career at BSG Energie Cottbus , where he played until 1985. He then played for Vorwärts Frankfurt / Oder for three years . There Schneider was used 38 times in the GDR league and scored two goals. In 1988 he came back to Cottbus and completed 29 league games with three goals for the BSG. In 1990 there was a short stay at BSG Chemie Guben . Then he returned to FC Energie Cottbus, where he was used eleven times in the league and scored twice. In 1991 1. FC Union Berlin signed Schneider. Then he moved again to FC Energie Cottbus. This time he stayed for five years. During this time he was with FC Energie in the 1996/97 season champion of the Regionalliga Nordost and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga . With Cottbus he also reached the final against VfB Stuttgart at the 1996/97 DFB Cup . After promotion in 1997 he moved back to 1. FC Union Berlin, where he was used in 46 games and scored three goals. Finally, he played in the second team at 1. FC Union Berlin until 2004. In 2006 Schneider was awarded the Blue Heart on the Abbey Bridge by the mayor of the Treptow-Köpenick district, Klaus Ulbricht, for his child-friendly commitment .
