Ingrid Grohmann

Ingrid Grohmann , b. Ingrid Koch , (born March 26, 1942 in Dresden ; † June 27, 2009 there ) was a German historian and archivist .

Life

Ingrid Grohmann attended the Polytechnische Oberschule in Dresden-Plauen and the Extended Oberschule Dresden-Reick, where she passed the matriculation examination in 1960. After a practical year, she studied history at the University of Leipzig until 1965 . After graduating as a historian, she continued her studies for a year at the Archive Science section of the Humboldt University in Berlin . There she graduated as a qualified archivist in 1966.

In 1967 she received a position as a scientific archivist at the Historical State Archive in Bautzen . She later moved to the Dresden State Archives in the same function . In 1990 she became head of department in the Dresden archive. In 1993 Ingrid Grohmann was given the management of the Leipzig State Archives . In this role she managed a. a. the move of the house from the building of the Reichsgericht to Leipzig-Paunsdorf . From 1994 she took on lectureships in selected areas of historical auxiliary sciences at the University of Leipzig . From 2001 to 2005 she was on the board of the Association of German Archivists . In addition, from 2006 onwards she worked as an honorary judge at the Dresden Social Court. After celebrating 40 years of service as archivist in 2007, she retired. She died in Dresden in 2009 and was buried in the Old Annenfriedhof .
