Ingrid Anneliese Mössinger (* around 1940 in Stuttgart ) is a German art historian . She was the general director of the Chemnitz art collections .

Life

After graduating from high school, Ingrid Mössinger first studied library science and then worked in the library for international business law in Frankfurt am Main . She then studied art history , archeology , ethnology and philosophy in Frankfurt. After a traineeship at the Landesmuseum Wiesbaden , she worked as a curator at the Frankfurter Kunstverein , in 1992/1993 as director of Art Frankfurt and then as head of the Kunstverein von Ludwigsburg . Since 1996 she has been director of the Chemnitz Art Collections and in 2005 became General Director of the Chemnitz Art Collections in conjunction with the Carlfriedrich Claus Archive Foundation , the Gunzenhauser Museum , the Schloßberg Museum Chemnitz and the Henry van de Velde Museum in the Villa Esche . Mössinger retired at the end of 2017.

Ingrid Mössinger is a member of the University Council of the Berlin University of the Arts and has been a member of the ZDF TV Council since 2008 .
