Ingrid Wells (born March 29, 1989 in New York City , New York ) is a former American football player .

Career

society

Wells began her career in the youth academy of the New Jersey-based club Parsippany Soccer Club, where she was a member of the Parsippany Gazelles 89 . She also played between 2002 and 2006 for the Montclair Mounties , the women's football team at Montclair High School . During her anthropology studies at Georgetown University , Wells played for the Georgetown Hoyas team there and played briefly in 2010 for the W-League participant New Jersey Rangers . In the 2012 season Wells played for Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC in Damallsvenskan , won the Swedish Cup there and was also featured several times in the Champions League . In February 2013, it was a so-called free agent by the NWSL - Franchise of Washington Spirit obliged her league debut on April 14, 2013 against the Boston Breakers . Wells was released from Washington in June 2013 and shortly thereafter joined league rivals Western New York Flash. These two teams faced each other in Wells' last game for Washington as well as in their debut for their new employer. As the first in the table at the end of the 2013 regular season , Wells was able to win the NWSL Shield with the Flash , but the championship final was lost 2-0 to Portland Thorns FC .

On September 6, 2013, Bundesliga club 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam announced Wells' commitment for two seasons. After the contract expired, she ended her career.

National team

Wells played for US youth teams in the U-20 and U-23 age groups. With the U-20, she won the title at the 2008 World Cup and made five appearances during the tournament.
