Innhavet ( Lule : Strávnjunnje ) is a town in the municipality of Hamarøy in Nordland in Norway . It is located on Straumsnesvika Bay on the Sagfjord and has, among other things, a kindergarten and a primary and secondary school ( barne- og ungdomsskole ) with 29 students (as of 2019/2020), a grocery store, a hairdresser and a hotel.

Innhavet is after the same inlet named, between the island Finnøya and the mainland the two fjords and Sagfjord Kaldvågfjord together. The Norwegian word “inhav” stands for an inland sea and “-et” is the specific form of it.

Innhavet is on the E6 between Fauske and Bognes on the Tysfjord (estuary) . The regional road 662 ( Norwegian fylkesvei 662 ) leads from Innhavet to the island of Finnøya. Buses connecting Fauske with Narvik , Harstad and Sortland often have a short break in Innhavet.

The polar railway (Norway) , the planning and construction of which was accelerated by the German occupying forces during the Second World War , was supposed to have a train station in Innhavet. The Hamarøy Krigsminnemuseum is located in Innhavet and has, among other things, the construction of the railway line with Soviet prisoners of war on the subject. In many places in the vicinity of Innhavet and the Tømmerneset a little further south there are remains of this railway construction and the associated prison camps.

Sagfjord IL operates an illuminated cross-country ski run and ski slope in Innhavet and has plans to expand the ski slope into a larger alpine ski facility. The sports offer also includes activities such as football and other ball sports, children's sports, skiing and fjelltrim .
