Nobuyoshi Ino

Nobuyoshi Ino ( Japanese 井 野 信義 ; * 1950 in Tokyo , Japan) is a Japanese jazz bassist.

Ino took double bass lessons in high school and began his career as a member of a rhythm and blues band. He then recorded with Japanese musicians such as Isao Suzuki , Kazumi Watanabe and Aki Takase and was part of Masayuki Takayanagi's groups . In 1980 he took part in the Moers New Jazz Festival with its New Direction for the Arts and became a member of the group Elvin Jones 5 .

Since 1983 he has appeared regularly at festivals in Europe. In 1984 he went on an Eastern European tour with Aki Takase, the following year he performed at the Frankfurt Jazz Festival with Lester Bowie , with whom he had previously recorded in Japan. With Kazutoki Umezu he went on tour in Australia in 1990.

In 1991 he became a member of the Berlin Contemporary Jazz Orchestra , which he conducted during a 1995 tour of Japan. In 1998 he founded the group The Trio with Ichiko Hashimoto and Atsuo Fujimoto , with which he recorded several albums. The Ub-X project followed in 2006 .
