Inter ea
Inter ea ( Latin : between these ) is an encyclical from Pope Gregory XVI. , it was promulgated on April 1st, 1842 and deals with the development in some Swiss cantons .
The liberal constitutions drafted in some Swiss cantons in the middle of the 19th century guaranteed freedom of belief , but also the rights of the Evangelical Reformed Church . They led from the perspective of Pope Gregory XVI. to anti-church laws. In this encyclical the Pope warned of possible dangers that would threaten the Catholic Church . He protested against the religious freedoms enshrined in the constitution and called for people to defend themselves against this development.
