Le armi valorose ( it . : the heroic weapons) is an encyclical dated July 12, 1831. With it Pope Gregory XVI turned. the Austrian Emperor I. Franz and praised the commitment of the Austrian armed forces , which he, in support of the crackdown on unrest in the Papal States , had received. He praised the heroic behavior and called on his subjects to forgive and to rebuild the papal state.
