action

Mia, a twelve-year-old girl, finds an old piece of paper on which the story of “Shadow Face” is told with an open ending. While trying to finish the story, Mia summons the monster herself. She thinks the "monster" is watching her from her walk-in closet. That's why she goes to her father at night and tells him that she feels watched. The father puts up a doll and burns it. So this doll is supposed to chase the monster. After Mia falls asleep again, she wakes up again and fetches her father because she thinks that she is still being watched. The father goes into the closet and is attacked by the "shadow man". A fight ensues between the two. During the fight, the father is exhausted, which the shadow man takes advantage of and Mia holds her hands over her face. The father gets up again and the shadow man flees. At first, the parents think Mia needs shock therapy because she doesn't speak, but the Shadow Man stole her mouth.

Reviews

"Visually and acoustically ambitious horror film that increasingly trims the storylines told in parallel towards psychological thrillers and thus leads to absurdity."

“Despite the good actors (Clive Owen, Carice van Houten, Daniel Brühl and Pilar López de Ayala) this horror flick by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (" Intacto "," 28 Weeks Later ") can hardly convince. Despite less eerie scenes, the director follows all known patterns and so the viewer quickly gets the feeling that they know everything and have already seen it. "
