The Intyamon is a valley in the Freiburg Pre-Alps in the southwest of the Swiss canton of Freiburg between Enney and Montbovon . The name comes from the local patois and means "between mountains" with the mountain range with Moléson and Vanil des Artses in the west and the Vanil Noir in the east. In between lie the communities of Bas-Intyamon and Haut-Intyamon , both of which belong to the Gruyère district and the Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut . In the valley, the Hongrin flows into the Saane , which drains into the North Sea via the Aare and Rhine . The valley's economy is characterized by agriculture and forestry.
