Ipomoea krugii is a plant type from the genus of Morningglory ( Ipomoea ). It is endemic to Puerto Rico , but has not been detected there for a long time.

description

Ipomoea krugii is an herbaceous , hairless climber . The leaves are egg-shaped, 5 to 9 cm long and 3 to 7 cm wide. They are entire or three-lobed below the tip. The tip is pointed long, the base is more or less deeply heart-shaped.

The inflorescences arise from the armpits. The inflorescence stalks have a length of 3.5 to 5 cm, on each of them there are two to three flowers on 6 to 10 cm long pedicels . The sepals are almost the same length and have a length of 12 to 13 cm. The outer petals are elongated, elliptical, all petals are curved inward and pointed. The crown is colored white, 3.5 cm long or even shorter, the crown is almost cylindrical.

Occurrence

The species is endemic to Puerto Rico and was described in 1908 using a specimen collected by Mayagüez . However, collections from today are not known.
