Irene Bandhauer-Schöffmann
Irene Bandhauer-Schöffmann (born Schöffmann ; * 1958 in Villach ) is an Austrian historian .
From 1986 she studied history, German and journalism at the University of Vienna and in 1986 at Erika Weinzierl on "The bourgeois women's movement in the Austro-fascism" to Dr. phil. PhD.
From 1993 to 1996 she was a contract assistant at the Institute for Social and Economic History at the University of Linz . She then was a Post Doc / Visiting Scholar at the Center for Austrian Studies at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and at the History Department at the University of California, Berkeley .
From 2000 to 2002 she was the project manager for the Austrian Commission of Historians for the research focus “Withdrawal and Restitution in the Area of the Catholic Church”. Afterwards she was responsible for the coordination office for women and gender studies at the University of Klagenfurt . 2004 habilitated they just there in contemporary history . In 2006 the Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor followed.
Bandhauer-Schöffmann was then visiting professor in 2010 and is currently a lecturer at the Institute for Contemporary History at the University of Vienna . Her research interests are historical women and gender studies , the history of nutrition and terrorism research .
In 1994 she received the Käthe-Leichter-Preis (State Prize) for women's studies, gender studies and equality in the world of work.
