Irene Bandhauer-Schöffmann

Irene Bandhauer-Schöffmann (born Schöffmann ; * 1958 in Villach ) is an Austrian historian .

From 1986 she studied history, German and journalism at the University of Vienna and in 1986 at Erika Weinzierl on "The bourgeois women's movement in the Austro-fascism" to Dr. phil. PhD.

From 1993 to 1996 she was a contract assistant at the Institute for Social and Economic History at the University of Linz . She then was a Post Doc / Visiting Scholar at the Center for Austrian Studies at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and at the History Department at the University of California, Berkeley .

From 2000 to 2002 she was the project manager for the Austrian Commission of Historians for the research focus “Withdrawal and Restitution in the Area of ​​the Catholic Church”. Afterwards she was responsible for the coordination office for women and gender studies at the University of Klagenfurt . 2004 habilitated they just there in contemporary history . In 2006 the Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor followed.

Bandhauer-Schöffmann was then visiting professor in 2010 and is currently a lecturer at the Institute for Contemporary History at the University of Vienna . Her research interests are historical women and gender studies , the history of nutrition and terrorism research .

In 1994 she received the Käthe-Leichter-Preis (State Prize) for women's studies, gender studies and equality in the world of work.
