Irene Fornaciari (born December 24, 1983 in Pietrasanta ) is an Italian singer. She became known through several participation in the Sanremo Festival .

Career

The daughter of the famous musician Zucchero made her first public appearance in a tribute concert in 2002 in honor of her father. Together with this she had already recorded the song Karma, stai calma and together with her sister Alice she had written Puro amore ; both songs appeared on Zucchero's 1998 album Bluesugar . She also worked as a songwriter for the soundtrack of the film Spirit - Der wilde Mustang (2002): She wrote the Italian lyrics for the songs written by Bryan Adams . In 2003 she played in the biblical musical I dieci comandamenti . Two years later she went on tour with her father and performed a. a. in the Royal Albert Hall .

In 2006 Fornaciari began her solo career with the release of a few singles, followed in 2007 by the first album Vertigini in fiore , which however was unsuccessful. At the Sanremo Festival 2009 , the singer took part in the newcomer category with the song Spiove il sole , but even with that, the second album, Vintage Baby, could not achieve any notable success. Only her participation in the main category of the festival the following year , together with the band Nomadi , brought the singer a minor success; her song Il mondo piange landed in sixth place and barely missed the top ten of the single charts. Then her third, self-titled album was released.

With Grande mistero Fornaciari appeared again in Sanremo in 2012 , but she did not make it to the finals, and the fourth album that was subsequently released was another failure. At the Sanremo Festival 2016 , the singer took part again, taking last place in the final with Blu .
