Irina Vladimirovna Muschailowa ( Russian Ирина Владимировна Мушаилова ; born January 6, 1967 in Krasnodar ) is a former Russian athlete who mainly competed in the long jump .

Life

She took part in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona for the United Team . There she took fifth place with a width of 6.68 m. In 1993 she won the Russian indoor championships in the long jump with a personal best of 6.94 m. Shortly thereafter, she reached fourth place at the World Indoor Championships in Toronto with 6.76 m and stayed just an inch behind the bronze rank.

In 1994 Muschailowa was also the Russian long jump champion outdoors, also in a new personal best of 7.20 m. At the following European Championships in Helsinki she was seventh with 6.62 m. However, she had her most successful season in 1995. At the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona , she won the bronze medal with 6.90 m behind her compatriot Lyudmila Galkina (6.95 m). Muschailowa was also successful outdoors at the World Championships in Gothenburg . There she secured the bronze medal with 6.83 m behind the Italian Fiona May (6.98 m) and the Cuban Niurka Montalvo (6.86 m).

Irina Muschailowa is 1.64 m tall and had a competition weight of 56 kg. She started for Dynamo Krasnodar .
