The Irrbach is a good two kilometers long left and west tributary of the Osterbach .

The Irrbach rises in the Odenwald at an altitude of about 348  m above sea level. NN in a forest meadow southwest of Reichelsheim - Unter-Easter .

It flows first in a northerly direction between the two wooded hills, the Dachsberg ( 385  m above sea level ) on its right and the Schmelzbuckel ( 365  m above sea level ) on its left. To the south of the Klößbuckeles ( 367.3  m above sea level ) the brook makes a wide arc to the west. Shortly before it reaches the outskirts of Unter-Easter, it is fed on its right by the Lauchbach coming from the southwest .

The Irrbach finally flows into Unter-Easter at an altitude of about 231  m above sea level. NHN in the Osterbach .

Its approximately 2.1 km long run ends about 117 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of 56 ‰.

Catchment area

The catchment area of ​​the Irrbach lies in the Vorderen Odenwald and is drained to the North Sea via the Osterbach, Gersprenz , Main and Rhine rivers.

It borders

  • in the east to that of the Osterbach
  • to the southwest by that of the Benz stream in the left Gersprenz source Bach Mergbach opens
  • in the west to that of the Schnepfenbach , also a Mergbach tributary
  • and in the north to that of the Mergbach itself.
