The Benzenbach is a three kilometer long right and south tributary of the Mergbach .

The Benzenbach rises at an altitude of about 340 m above sea level. NHN in the Vorderen Odenwald southwest of Reichelsheim - Groß-Gumpen in a wet meadow area between the Stotz ( 478.1 m ) in the south and the Range ( 409.9 m ) in the north.
It flows in a north-westerly direction first through forest and then through meadows and fields. East of the Muhl-Bergs ( 277.4 m above sea level. NHN ) passes under the Bach the wholesale Gumpener Kriemhildenstraße , the road through the Federal Highway 47 / Federal Highway 38 , while only a single housing land touching, and ends a few meters across from small pools on a height of about 236 m from the south and from the right into the Mergbach approaching from the southwest .
Its approximately 2.7 km long run ends approximately 104 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of about 39 ‰.
Area of influence
The area of influence of the Benzenbach lies in the Tromm-Odenwald, a part of the Vorderen Odenwald, and is drained to the North Sea via the Mergbach, Gersprenz , Main and Rhine .
It borders
- in the northeast to that of the Schnepfenbach , a tributary of the Mergbach
- in the east to that of the Irrbach , a tributary of the Osterbach
- in the southeast and south of the Osterbach, the right source river of the Gersprenz
- in the southwest to that of the Weschnitz , which flows into the Rhine
- and in the west to that of the Marbach , a tributary of the Mergbach
The highest point is the 478.1 m above sea level. NHN high Stotz.
