history

The insane offensive, which was registered as an association in October 1982 , serves according to the statutes “the self-help of current or former psychiatric inmates” and “works towards creating an understanding of madness and helping to create new forms of life to find madness ”. The association regards the observance of human rights [...] as a focus of its work. In 1983, the teacher Tina Stöckle published a book of the same name about the crazy offensive. In her honor, the Weglaufhaus in Berlin is nicknamed "Villa Stöckle".

In its history, the association has initiated discussions on the subject of self-determination by psychiatric patients in Germany or has been involved in them. The mad offensive contributed to the conception of the psychiatric testament and the health care proxy ; The concept of the Weglaufhaus was also developed in a project group supported by her. At the first psychiatric policy conference of the Federal Working Group of the Greens in Berlin in 1984, the group successfully questioned the concept of reformed social psychiatry , which had been advocated by the Greens before the conference.

The former vice rector of the University of Marburg , Dietmar Kamper , organized in 1998 in cooperation with Gerburg Treusch-Dieter , Klaus-Jürgen brother and Wolf-Dieter Narr , the insane offensive and the Berlin Volksbühne the Foucault - Tribunal on the situation of psychiatry. The insane offensive was also significantly involved in the planning and implementation of an international " Russell Tribunal" in 2001 in Berlin, in which the World Psychiatric Association was indicted. The psychiatrist Thomas Szasz , a founding member of the advisory board of the Commission for Violations of Psychiatry against Human Rights , a sub-organization of Scientology , acted as “chief prosecutor”.

In 2002 the crazy offensive awarded a freedom prize to the vehement opponent of forced psychiatry Thomas Szasz .

From the mad offensive as part of the "Werner-Fuß-Zentrum at the Free University of Berlin " a "Chair FOR madness" was proclaimed in 1999. The center is named after a member and seller of the newspaper der Irren-Offensive who died around 1994.

In 2004, with the participation of the insane offensive, demonstrations, press work and discussions with members of the Bundestag prevented an amendment to § 1906 in the 1st reading of the Supervision Amendment Act , which eliminated the possibility of compulsory outpatient treatment, which was provided for in the draft law under § 1906a BGB.

The State Association of Psychiatry Experienced Berlin-Brandenburg e. V. held on 31 January 2012 in Berlin the premiere event of a cinema commercials with actress Nina Hagen on living wills . The slogan for the campaign was “PatVerfü - Mentally Ill? Your own decision! ”In April 2012, the spot was given new credits due to various differences.
