Isaac Vorsah (born June 21, 1988 in Accra ) is a Ghanaian football player .

Career

In his youth, Vorsah played for Oscar FC , FC Maamobi and Gamba All Blacks , for whose team he played for the first time in the Ghana Premier League in 2006 . In January 2007, the central defender moved to Asante Kotoko and won the Coca Cola Top Four Cup with them . He was also voted the season's best defender . In the summer of the same year, Vorsah was loaned to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . Nine months later, the association drew a purchase option that would bind Vorsah to the association until 2011. Before the 2010 World Cup , the contract was prematurely extended to 2014. Vorsah has currently played 97 Bundesliga games and scored four goals.

On August 31, 2012, Vorsah moved to the Austrian first division club FC Red Bull Salzburg . There he signed a contract until June 2015. When Vorsah made his debut, he was kicked off the field with red after five minutes for stealing goals. He scored his first goal in a 3-1 away win against SV Mattersburg .

After his contract had expired, Vorsah, who had been injured for a long time in Salzburg, received a new contract with the farm team FC Liefering . After the 2015/16 season he left FC Liefering.

Internationally, Vorsah was not considered for the youth teams of his country and was appointed to the squad for the first time in 2007 for a friendly match between Ghana's senior team in London against Senegal. However, he made his debut 18 months later in February 2009 against Egypt in a 2-2 draw in Cairo. As a result, he was used in the final group stage of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup against Mali, Sudan and Benin, and with Ghana he qualified for the World Cup for the second time in a row. In January 2010 Isaac Vorsah played for Ghana at the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola. He was one of the best players there and never missed a minute for Ghana, which, despite a team weakened by injuries and suspensions, reached the final and took a surprising second place.

He returned from the African Championship with a serious knee injury. Nevertheless, he was in the Ghanaian squad for the World Cup in South Africa in the summer of 2010 , in which the Africans advanced to the quarter-finals and only lost to Uruguay on penalties.

Isaac Vorsah was also appointed to the national team for the 2013 Africa Cup .
