Ise Bosch

Ise Bosch (* 1964 in Stuttgart ) is a German founder, managing director and heiress as well as granddaughter of the industrialist Robert Bosch .

Life

Ise Bosch grew up in Stuttgart. After graduating from high school , she studied history at Reed College in Portland (Oregon) from 1985 to 1988 and jazz in the subject of electric bass at the Hanns-Eisler University of Music in Berlin from 1994 to 1998 . In the 1990s she worked as a freelance musician in the fields of jazz and world music.

During her stay in the United States , Bosch came into contact with the American understanding of philanthropy and has since been committed to promoting social change with her inherited fortune . Since the 1990s, it has donated and made donations specifically in the areas of human rights , women and sexual minorities. In 1996, for example, she set up the International Fund for Sexual Minorities of the Astraea Lesbian Action Foundation in New York, and in 2001 she founded the international women's foundation filia.die Frauenstiftung , for which she was on the board from 2003 to 2011. She is also the founder and managing director of Dreilinden gGmbH in Hamburg, which advocates the rights of lesbian, bi-, trans * and inter people, women and girls.

The certified eco-investment advisor publicly advocates responsible and sustainable management of assets. In 2003 she and other women founded Pecunia - The Heiress Network - to promote the exchange of ideas about strategic giving .

In 2007 CH Beck published her book “Donate better! A Guide to Sustainable Commitment ”.

In 2018 her book "Giving with Trust. How Philanthropy Becomes Transformative" was published together with Claudia Bollwinkel and Justus Eisfeld

Awards

  • In 2017, the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice's Transformative Philanthropy Award was named after her and she was the recipient of the first annual award.
  • In May 2018, at the German Foundation Day in Nuremberg , she received the German Foundation Award , the highest award in German foundations.
