action

On May 21, 1688, the Spanish galleon Natividad , coming from Panama , was shipwrecked in thick fog . The inhabitants of a nearby island leave the crew indifferent to their fate in the hope of stealing valuable treasure by drowning the ship's crew. The plan works, the conquistadors on board die. At some point some corpses are recovered, but they are refused burial in the consecrated ground, which a little later turns out to be a fatal mistake. The drowned people awaken to new life and return as revenants , as vampire-like zombies . In a subsequent epidemic , all living are killed or infected.

A few centuries later, a group of eight treasure hunters traveled the area to search for lost wealth on the high seas. At night, your ship gets into distress and crashes in a fog bank. The next morning they jointly explore a nearby tropical island, while Max, the machinist, stays with the unfit ship. The land travelers around Captain Kirk are besieged and decimated by the undead . Almost at the same time, her rescue ship is lost in an explosion; escape is now impossible. You are doomed to remain on the Isle of the Dead. In a dilapidated Spanish fort, the adventurers face the zombies. At the same time, the two women and five men are plagued by hallucinations, which makes their survival difficult. Little by little, your stay develops into a struggle for survival with an overpowering opponent. They manage to build a seaworthy raft, which only reaches the petite Sharon after an exhausting fight. At the end of the film, she is the only survivor to escape the cursed island. She is ultimately saved by the Philippine Coast Guard. However, this can only determine her death, although it remained unclear whether she mutated into a zombie.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was a “cheap horror nonsense” by a supposed Italian old master of the scene who “did nothing clever” .
