Ismael Sergio Ley López

Ismael Sergio Ley López (born June 17, 1941 in Tayoltita , Durango state ) is a Mexican ambassador .

Life

Ley López studied art history and restoration techniques at the Institute of Archeology at the University of London (Master's) at the Escuela nacional de arcitectura of the UNAM until 1962 , then at the University of Paris .

He joined the foreign service in 1984. From 1984 to 1990 he was cultural attaché in Beijing . From 1990 to 1993 Ley López was the deputy head of the Mexican representation in Singapore . In 1994 he was Consul General in Shanghai .

From 1995 to 1997 Ley López was head of the Pacific and Asia Department at the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores . From May 21, 1997 to 2001 he was Ambassador to Jakarta Indonesia and from 2001 to 2006 Ambassador to the People's Republic of China .
