Isokreosol is an aromatic compound with the empirical formula C 8 H 10 O 2 . It is an isomer to creosol , from which it differs only in the position of the methoxy group. It can be seen as a methyl derivative of guaiacol or a methoxy derivative of m- cresol .

The picrate crystallizes from ethanol in orange-red leaflets with a melting point of 87.5 ° C.
