Isolde Oschmann
Isolde Oschmann (born May 20, 1913 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( KPD / SED ). She was Minister of Public Education for the State of Thuringia .
Life
Oschmann attended elementary school in Berlin and worked as a band worker. She became a member of the Communist Youth Association of Germany (KJVD).
After 1945 she worked for a city youth welfare office and trained as a kindergarten teacher. In 1945 she joined the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and in 1946 became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). From 1946 to 1948 she was a city councilor for the Berlin- Treptow district . She then studied from 1948 to 1950 at the party college and became an assistant at the chair for history at the party college. From December 19, 1950 to July 25, 1952 Isolde Oschmann was Minister for Popular Education of the State of Thuringia . She was also the regional chairman of the German-Polish Society and a member of the regional management of the Kulturbund Thuringia. From 1952 to 1955 she acted as the deputy head of the General Education Department at the Central Committee of the SED and was temporarily a member of the Women's Commission at the Politburo of the SED Central Committee . Subsequently, she was responsible for the pre-school education of children in the GDR as a sector manager in the Ministry of Popular Education . Later she was a research assistant in the ministry until 1973 and was appointed senior teacher. From 1977 to 1982 Oschmann was a member of the central board of the teaching and education union .
