Issac Delgado

Issac Felipe Delgado Ramírez (born September 11, 1962 in Havana , Cuba ) is a Cuban salsa musician .

Career

His father was a tailor and his mother an actress, dancer and singer in the Teatro Musical de La Habana. At the age of ten Issac Delgado was to learn to play the cello at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory, which he stopped after two years. He also completed training in physical education. On the recommendation of the pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba , he joined the group "Proyecto" at the age of 18. At that time he was taking singing lessons from Mariana De Gonish, Cuba's best singing coach, and went to the Ignacio Cervantes School for professional musicians. In 1983 Issac Delgado joined the Orquesta de Pancho Alonso, had international appearances and recorded his first CD. In 1987 he became the singer of the group Galaxia and released his second CD. In 1988 there was another change to the band NG La Banda . With this group Issac Delgado had his greatest successes. In 1991 he recorded the CD Dando La Hora with his own band under the musical direction of Gonzalo Rubalcaba. Issac Delgado also won EGREM prizes with the albums Con Ganas and El Chévere de la Salsa y el Caballero del Son. At the Salsa Festival in New York's Madison Square Garden , he performed with artists such as Celia Cruz , El Canario, and Grupo Niche. Another major salsa event was Guerra de la Salsa with La India , Rey Ruiz and Tony Vega . In 2006 he emigrated with his family across the border near Laredo / Texas to the USA . The album En Primera Plana was released in 2007 and Así Soy in 2008 . He lived in Tampa , Florida for a while and then moved to Miami . In 2011 he recorded the maxi single Que no se te olvide with La India .
