Isthmia ( modern Greek Ισθμία ) is a municipality and a place in the municipality of Loutraki-Perachora in the municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agii Theodori about 7 km southeast of Corinth. It is located in the Peloponnese ( Greece ) at the eastern end of the Isthmus of Corinth and was named after the Poseidon sanctuary of Isthmia . Kalamaki , north of the Corinth Canal , is a district of Isthmia.

Between Isthmia and Kyras Vrysi are the ruins of the Poseidon sanctuary of Isthmia and the Archaeological Museum, in which finds from the sanctuary and the surrounding area are exhibited. The eastern part of the medieval Hexamilion fortification wall and the associated Kastel are also located in the city district . The Corinth Canal, which separates the main town from Kalamaki, has been crossed by a sink bridge since June 1987 . Before that there was a ferry. To the east of the bridge, the tourist ships take passengers for a canal crossing. This is also where the port authority's "tower" is located, where the transit fees are paid.
