Ivan Mesík (born June 1, 2001 in Banská Bystrica ) is a Slovak football player who has been under contract with the Danish first division club FC Nordsjælland since January 2020 . The central defender has been a Slovak national player since November 2018 .
Career
society
Ivan Mesík, born in Banská Bystrica , played in the youth department of FK Dukla Banská Bystrica before moving to the Spartak Trnava youth academy in 2016 . He made his debut for the team of head coach Michal Ščasný on May 18, 2019 (9th matchday of the relegation round) in a 1-0 away win against FC Nitra . This mission remained his only one in the 2018/19 season . In the next 2019/20 season he made his breakthrough in the starting line-up of the new trainer Ricardo Chéu . He scored his first league goal on August 4, 2019 (3rd matchday) in a 2-0 home win against FC Nitra. Until his move, he came to 16 league appearances this season, in which he was able to score a goal.
On January 28, 2020, Mesík moved to the Danish first division club FC Nordsjælland , where he signed a four and a half year contract. He made his debut after the restart of the 2019/20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic on May 29, 2020 (25th matchday) in a 2-0 away win against Silkeborg IF . In the next league games he started regularly and in total he played 11 league games this season.
National team
Between January and September 2017, Mesík played two friendly matches for the U16s . From July 2017 to March 2018, he played eight international matches for the U17s , in which he scored one goal. In November 2018 he was used for the U19 for the first time.
