Ivan Rabuzin
Ivan Rabuzin (born March 27, 1921 in Ključ , Varaždin County ; † December 18, 2008 in Varaždin ) was a Croatian naive painter .
Life
Rabuzin was born the son of a miner, the sixth child of eleven siblings in the village of Kljuć near Novi Marof . After attending primary school, Rabuzin worked in agriculture and completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. From 1945 to 1947 he attended the trade school in Zagreb. He didn't start working as an artist until the 1950s.
From around 1959 Rabuzin was a freelance painter, in 1963 he had his first solo exhibition in the Mona Lisa gallery in Paris. This was followed by hundreds of solo and countless group exhibitions. Pictures of him hang in many galleries and museums. In the 1970s he worked with the Finnish designer Timo Sarpaneva in the studio line of the Rosenthal company on the design of the Suomi tableware .
