Iwa Slateschka ( Bulgarian Ива Златешка , English transcription Iva Zlateshka ; born September 20, 1988 in Trojan ) is a Bulgarian biathlete .

life and career

Iwa Slateschka lives in Trojan and trains in Lovech . She starts for Ajaks Trojan and is supervised by the coach Zwetan. She started biathlon in 1998 and has been a member of the Bulgarian national team since 2003. She made her international debut in 2005 as part of the Junior European Cup. The first international championship was the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2007 in Martell , where Slateschka was 55th in the individual and 58th in the sprint. She did not finish the chase. In 2007 she contested her first women's race in the European Cup in Obertilliach and was 55th in the sprint. In Bansko she reached the points and the top ten positions for the first time as tenth in the further course of the season, in the pursuit race based on this she achieved her best result in the racing series with ninth place. This was followed by the Open Balkan Biathlon Championships in 2008 in Băile Harghita , where Slateschka came in tenth place in the sprint race. Later in the year, the Bulgarian competed in the 2008 Summer Biathlon European Championships in Bansko. In her Bulgarian homeland, Slateschka finished 13th in the sprint and eleven in the mass start race. With Lilija Pandurowa , Miroslaw Kenanow and Ilijan Penew , she also finished fourth in the mixed relay race.
