Africa Synod 2009

In a statement during the Second Special Assembly for Africa (see also Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Africae munus ), Bishop Coussa commented on the genocide of the Armenians . So he remembered the one and a half million people murdered by the Ottomans in 1915 and called for forgiveness for the enemy. At the same time he reminded of the rights of the Armenians and welcomed the rapprochement between Armenia and Turkey . He appealed to those responsible to support the progress.

Middle East Synod 2010

In his address, Coussa referred to Paul's letter to the Romans , who wrote: "Joyful in hope, patient in tribulation, persistent in prayer". (12.12 EU ) He applied these words of Paul to the situation of Christians in the Middle East. He concluded by asking that Christians in the Holy Land should not live in isolation in caves or tunnels, but should clearly see what they are doing regardless of their religion or culture . He therefore expects this Synod to be supported in this hope.
