Iwajlo Rumenov Petkow ( Bulgarian Ивайло Руменов Петков ; English transcription: Ivaylo Rumenov Petkov ; born March 24, 1976 in Dolni Dabnik ) is a former Bulgarian football player and coach.
Player career
society
Petkow started his professional career in 1995 at FK Spartak Pleven and moved to Litex Lovetsch after two years . With this club he became Bulgarian champion in his first season .
For the 1998/99 season he moved to the Turkish 1st Lig for İstanbulspor . This club was bought by billionaire Cem Uzan three years earlier . He used himself here as a patron and tried to create a powerful competition to the three big Istanbul clubs Galatasaray Istanbul , Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Beşiktaş Istanbul by buying stars and talents . In this context, Petkow was also bought. At his new employer, Petkow won a regular position and kept it until he left. After Uzan and with him Istanbulspor got into financial difficulties, the Istanbulspor project was abandoned and the association was left to an insolvency administrator. This gradually sold all of the team's stars to other clubs.
Following the bankruptcy of Istanbulspor, Petkow was transferred to Fenerbahçe Istanbul in September 2003. Under head coach Christoph Daum , Petkow did not make it to become a regular player, but he completed 16 league games and became Turkish champions with his club .
For the 2004/05 season he moved to the Russian club FK Kuban Krasnodar . After a year he left this club and returned to Turkey for the first division club MKE Ankaragücü . After two seasons he was again committed by Krasnodar.
In spring 2009 he returned to his Litex Lovetsch and won the Bulgarian Cup with this club at the end of the season . In the seasons 2009/10 and 2010/11 he was Bulgarian champion twice in a row with this club. In the 2010/11 season he also won the Bulgarian Supercup with his club and ended his career in the summer of 2011.
