Iwan Gennadjewitsch Oschogin ( Russian Иван Геннадьевич Ожогин , scientific transliteration Ivan Gennad'evič Ožogin ; born September 1, 1978 in Ulyanovsk ) is a Russian opera and musical performer . In Germany he became known for the role of Count von Krolock in the musical Tanz der Vampire .

Life

Ivan Oschogin received vocal training from the age of three, attended a state music school and learned to play various musical instruments.

In 2002 he completed his training as a musical performer at the Russian Academy of Theater Arts in Moscow and was immediately accepted for leading and supporting roles in the Russian productions of musicals Chicago , Cats and Beauty and the Beast as well as in the Russian musicals The Wedding of the Jay, North -Ost and the black bridle of a white mare engaged.

In addition to his work as a musical performer, Iwan Oschogin has a classical repertoire as an opera singer. He performs at Moscow's Helikon Opera , regularly takes part in recitals in which he sings Russian folk and love songs, and works with Russian orchestras.

Since 2007 he has been a soloist in the choir of the St. Nicholas Monastery on the Ugrescha and has been on tour with the Bolshoi Don Kosaken choir in Russia and Europe.

In 2011 Iwan Oschogin made his breakthrough as a musical singer with the role of Count von Krolock in the Russian production of the musical Tanz der Vampire . The Russian premiere of the musical took place on September 3, 2011 in the Theater for Musical Comedy in St. Petersburg .

Dance of the Vampires, Theater des Westens in Berlin

In 2013, Iwan Oschogin took over the role of Count von Krolock in the Berlin production of Tanz der Vampire and thus succeeded Thomas Borchert . On February 8, 2013, Iwan Oschogin celebrated his German-language premiere at the Theater des Westens in Berlin . He played in Germany until the Dernière des Musicals, making him the last Graf von Krolock on the German stage this season. Besides Kirill Zolygin (Paris and Germany), Iwan Oschogin is the only musical actor who played the same role in two different languages ​​in two different countries. He is also the first Russian musical actor to be hired for the lead role in a German musical.

Iwan Oschogin is currently playing the Phantom in the Russian musical production The Phantom of the Opera in Moscow. Since January 2015 Oschogin is also known as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde seen at the St. Petersburg Theater for Musical Comedy. Since September 2014 Oschogin has been playing Professor Voland in the new musical Der Meister und Margarita. The musical is based on the legendary novel by Mikhail Bulgakov . According to press releases, it will soon be produced on Broadway. In addition, Oschogin takes part in the 3D musical about the Polish silent film actress Pola Negri .
