Józef Zawitkowski
Józef Zawitkowski (born November 17, 1938 in Wał ) is a Polish priest and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Łowicz .
Life
The Archbishop of Warsaw and of Gniezno, Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski , ordained him as a priest on May 20, 1962 . He worked in the Archdiocese of Warsaw .
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Warsaw and titular bishop of Ausana on May 26, 1990 . The Archbishop of Warsaw and Gniezno , Józef Cardinal Glemp , donated him the episcopal ordination on June 9th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Damian Zimoń , Bishop of Katowice , and Władysław Miziołek , Auxiliary Bishop in Warsaw.
As a motto he chose Servus et filius ancillae . On March 25, 1992 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Łowicz .
On December 9, 2013, Pope Francis granted his resignation .

- Gloria Artis Medal for Cultural Merit in Silver (2007)
