Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą ( German Neumark an der Pilitza ) is a town in the powiat Grójecki , Masovian Voivodeship , Poland, with 4,022 inhabitants.

The Pilica flows in the south of the city ; to the west is the former military airfield, which is to be used for civil purposes in the future.

Today's town of Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą emerged from the village of Pobiedna . The place received the right to localize on December 27, 1400.

Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą was first mentioned in a document in the 16th century. In the 19th and 20th In the 19th century, a lay order moved near the place. Head of the order was among others Honorat Koźmiński , who was named city patron in 1997.

Before the Second World War, about 1,300 Jews lived in the city, that was a third of the population. In September 1939 the city was occupied by the German Wehrmacht . Subsequently, in April 1941, a forced ghetto with around 3,000 Jews was established on the city's territory, which was dissolved on October 22, 1942, after which the prisoners in the Treblinka extermination camp were murdered. On January 17, 1945, at the end of the Second World War , the place was taken by the Red Army .

On May 13, 1958, a storm caused great damage in the city and its surroundings.
