József Navarrete (born December 26, 1965 in Santa Clara , Cuba ) is a former Hungarian saber fencer .
successes
József Navarrete was world champion with the team in Essen in 1993 and in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1998 . He was also runner- up with her in Athens in 1994 and won the bronze medal in The Hague in 1995 and in Cape Town in 1997 . At the European Championships he took third place in 1998 in Plovdiv . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he reached the final with the team against Russia , which was lost at 25:45. Together with Csaba Köves and Bence Szabó , he received the silver medal. In the individual, he just missed another medal in fourth. In the semifinals he was defeated by the later Olympic champion Stanislaw Posdnjakow , in the battle for third place Damien Touya . He won the Hungarian national championships with the team four times.
