Jörg Antoine
Jörg Antoine (born May 30, 1968 in Prüm in the Eifel , Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a German lawyer and President of the Consistory of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia (EKBO).
Life
After his community service at the University Hospital Bonn , Antoine devoted himself to his studies. He attained the legal state exam, a master's degree in philosophy and a degree as Master of Business Administration . This was followed by two semesters of Protestant theology at the Humboldt University in Berlin . There he received his doctorate with a legal dissertation on euthanasia .
From 1997 onwards, his professional path initially led Antoine to various commercial law firms in Berlin . In 2002 he moved to the regional church office in Hanover for the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover , where he was appointed senior church councilor. Since 2008 Antoine has been deputy director in the regional church Diakonisches Werk . Since 2014 he has been a board member of the Diakonisches Werk Protestant Churches in Lower Saxony . From 2009 to 2015 he was an extraordinary member of the college of the Hanover regional church office.
On November 14, 2014, the Synod of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia elected Antoine as the new President of the Consistory in Berlin by a large majority . Since May 2015 he has been President of the EKBO Consistory.
In 2012 he became vice-chairman of the Conference on Diakonia and Development . Antoine is a member of the supervisory board of the Evangelical Work for Diakonie and Development and of the VERKA pension fund . He is married and has three children. Hobbies include family life, reading, sports, and volunteer field service .
