Jörg Brückner (horn player)

Jörg Brückner (born October 14, 1971 in Leipzig ) is a German musician, solo horn player in Munich and university professor in Weimar . Jörg Brückner is married to the pianist Cora Irsen and lives with her and their daughter in Weimar.

biography

From 1985 to 1989 Brückner attended the special school for music “Belvedere” in Weimar, after which he began a three-year course at the Liszt School of Music Weimar . His teachers there were Rainer Heimbuch and Karl Biehlig . In Leipzig he was tutored by Hermann Märker .

From 1992 Brückner was the third horn player in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under Kurt Masur , and in 1997 he moved to the Dresden Philharmonic as solo horn player , where he gave solo concerts. He also made music in Dresden with the local chamber orchestra. In Leipzig again with the local Bach orchestra .

Since his time in Dresden, Brückner has been a member of the brass ensemble "Brass partout", the Dresden horn quartet and the "Carus" ensemble Dresden. In 2006 he became professor for horn at the Liszt School of Music Weimar and in 2008 principal horn with the Munich Philharmonic .

In the ranks of the Berlin Philharmonic , he was the guest solo horn player at the Salzburg Easter Festival in 2009 .
