Career

Jörg Handrick began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown with Dynamo Weißwasser , with whom he was DDR champion in 1989 and 1990 . After German reunification and the associated inclusion of the club, which in the meantime was renamed PEV and later ES Weißwasser, into the Bundesliga , Handrick initially stayed with the Lausitzers for two more years before joining their league rivals EV Landshut in the summer of 1992 , for whom he did the following seven years - from 1994 in the newly founded DEL - was on the ice. When Landshut sold his DEL license in 1999, the attacker joined the Munich Barons , who took Landshut's place in the DEL. With the Barons, Handrick was German champion in the 1999/2000 season . A year later he moved into the final of the German championship with Bayern again, in which, however, he and his team were defeated by the then DEL record champion Adler Mannheim . After the 2002/03 season , which he spent at EC Bad Tölz in the 2nd Bundesliga , the former national player of the GDR and FRG ended his career.

International

Handrick took part in the B-World Championships in 1989 and 1990 for the GDR . For Germany he took part in the 1994 World Cup and the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer .
