Jørn Precht

Jørn Precht (born May 30, 1967 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a German lecturer for screenplay and dramaturgy, screenwriter , translator , editor , actor , director , film producer and author .

Life

Precht studied German and English from 1989 to 1997 at the University of Stuttgart . From 1998 to 2001 he completed a postgraduate course in “Screenwriting and Creative Producing” at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy . In January 2001 he founded the Interspherial Screenwriting School in the Filmhaus Stuttgart , where he was academic director until 2012. Since March 2002 he has been a board member of the Filmbüro Baden-Württemberg . Since March 2009 he has been working as a freelance screenwriter for Bavaria TV-Produktion for the TV series SOKO Stuttgart . Since April 2012 Precht has been Professor of Transmedia Storytelling at the Stuttgart Media University . In 2014 he opened the Institute for Applied Narration Research (IANA) there.

In 2016, in collaboration with journalist Eva-Maria Bast, the non-fiction books “Stuttgarter Secrets” (in cooperation with “Stuttgarter Zeitung” and “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”) and “Flensburger Secrets” (in cooperation with “Flensburger Tageblatt”) were published. The team of authors also wrote the historical novel “Die Villa am Elbstrand” under the open pseudonym Charlotte Jacobi, which was published by Piper Verlag in November 2018. [obsolete] Since 2017, Precht has been working with Roger Spottiswoode on a new feature film and, on behalf of ZDF, as a screenwriter for the 3D animation television series “Petzi” (“Rasmus Klump”). In 2017, Gmeiner Verlag published his historical novel “The secret of Dr. Alzheimer ”, which was awarded the bronze HOMER Prize for the best historical novel of 2017 on October 6, 2018 .
