Július Šimon

Július Šimon (born July 19, 1965 in Lučenec ) is a former Slovak football player.

Career

Šimon started his professional career in 1987 with the Slovak club Dunajska Streda . After a few seasons at Dunajska Streda, the club changed to FC Kosice in 1993. After his two-year stay in Kosice, the then 30-year-old Slovak, whose prominent feature was his bald head, switched to the traditional Slovak club FC Spartak Trnava , with which he also signed a two-year contract. In Austria, Julius Šimon gained relatively great fame through his move to FK Austria Wien , where the then captain of the Slovak national team was to become a playmaker. Due to its calm and clarity, the "number 10" at the time quickly developed into the public favorite of the Viennese "Veilchen". Despite his great popularity with the fans, the club management decided after a year and a half to transfer him to SV Ried , a league competitor.

Further stations in Austria were FAC , ASK Kottingbrunn , Wiener Sportklub , SV Horn , FK White Star, SV Gablitz and finally SC Columbia Floridsdorf , with whom he won the championship title in the Vienna City League in the 2009/2010 season and then his Career ended.

In 2012, Šimon worked for four months as the coach of SC Ritzing in the Regionalliga Ost.

For the Slovak national team Šimon played 23 games in which he was able to score six goals.
