history

The occupancy of the Jewish cemetery in Ettendorf has been documented since the 16th century. More than 1,300 graves can be seen in the 3.7 hectare cemetery. The oldest gravestones date from the 16th and 17th centuries. The dead of many Jewish communities in the wide area were buried in the cemetery. In 1875 there were still 24 Jewish communities using the cemetery.
