Text of the plaque at the new cemetery:
Jewish Cemetery
This Jewish cemetery, located far from Friedberg's gates, was opened in April 1934 as the successor to the old Jewish cemetery located on the edge of today's inner city. In contrast to the 'old' Jewish cemetery on Ockstädter Straße, the 'new' Jewish cemetery survived the period of the Third Reich.
There are 13 graves on it from the period between 1935 and 1939. After the expulsion and extermination of the Friedberg Jews during the Third Reich, it seldom happens that descendants of the deceased, none of whom are living in Germany today, are involved in this To commemorate their family members. The 'old' Jewish cemetery, on the other hand, was largely destroyed and is now only recognizable as a green area.
