Jewish cemetery (Lauterbach)
The Jewish cemetery in Lauterbach , a town in the Vogelsberg district in Hesse , was established in 1898. The Jewish cemetery , west of the communal cemetery at the end of the street Am Kalkofen , is a protected cultural monument .
history
The Jewish cemetery was laid out in 1898, the year the Jewish community was officially founded . Samuel Strauss donated the property. The Jews from Herbstein were also buried in the cemetery. The first burial was that of Jette Seligmann (died in August 1899), the last was that of Karoline Strauss on January 21, 1938. Today there are still 54 grave sites.
