Jewish cemetery (Bretzenheim)
The Jewish cemetery in Bretzenheim , a local community in the Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was laid out around 1863. The Jewish cemetery is located south of the village in the corridor In der Johanneshohl .
history
The oldest surviving tombstone is dated November 25, 1863, the youngest is dated September 24, 1932. Ten single and three double graves are still preserved in the cemetery.
During the Nazi era , tombs were overturned in 1941/42. Some stones were stolen and used as flooring on site.
At the beginning of 1945, 38 concentration camp prisoners were buried in the cemetery, who had been forced to do forced labor in the Bad Kreuznach area.
