Jewish cemetery (Nickenich)
The Nickenich Jewish Cemetery in Nickenich , a local community in the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate , is a protected cultural monument . It is located north of the federal highway 61 on the edge of a forest area.
history
The Jewish cemetery in Nickenich was laid out in the middle of the 19th century. It was used as a burial place for the Jews in Kruft and Nickenich. Today there are 61 tombstones ( mazewot ). The first burial probably took place around 1800 and the last in 1926.
