The Jewish cemetery in Weitersburg , a local community in the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was probably created in the 17th or 18th century. The Jewish cemetery , southeast of the place next to the federal highway 48, is a protected monument . The cemetery can be reached via a road that runs along the motorway and branches off the road connecting Weitersburg and Vallendar .

history

The Jewish communities of Weitersburg, Arenberg , Immendorf and Vallendar (until their own cemetery was established in Vallendar in the 20th century) buried their dead in this cemetery. On the 25.30 ares large area there are still about 120 tombstones ( Mazewot ), most of which date from the 19th century.
