The Niedermendig Jewish Cemetery in Niedermendig , a district of the city ​​of Mendig in the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate , is a protected cultural monument . Today it is located in the middle of a new building area on Anne-Frank- Strasse.

history

The Jewish community in Niedermendig laid out the Jewish cemetery at the end of the 19th century. The cemetery covers an area of ​​7.15 acres and was largely destroyed during the National Socialist era . Most of the gravestones have no inscription panels. The last burial was in 1938 and today there are still 37 tombstones ( mazewot ).
