The Jümmesee is a quarry pond in the field of joint community Jümme in Lower Saxony . The lake serves as a recreational lake.
location
The Jümmesee is located southwest of the Stickhausen district of the Detern municipality , which is one of three member municipalities of the Jümme municipality. It is only separated from the Jümme river of the same name by a dike . The lake has neither inflows nor outflows.
history
The Jümmesee is named after the Jümme river, which flows directly by the lake. It was created in the early 1980s when sand was extracted for the construction of the B 72 , which leads from the Cloppenburg junction of the A 1 to the ferry terminal to Norddeich .
Jümmesee leisure facility
The Jümmesee has been prepared as a recreational lake. On the eastern side it has a sandy beach with a lawn and a large campsite. On the western side, the lake is separated from the federal highway 72 that passes by by a strip of forest.
