Jürgen Ebert (* 1954 in Bocholt ) is a German sculptor who mainly produces his work in bronze . Many of his works are in public space. He works mainly representational, but also abstract .

Life

Ebert, the son of an artist family, spent his school days in his hometown. He then studied sculpture at the state sculpture school in Oberammergau from 1973 to 1976, where he learned classic wood sculpture . He then continued his education from 1976 to 1982 at the Academy of Arts in Munich. Ebert's work was shaped by Erich Koch , in whose class he was accepted. Even Hans Wimmer and the sculptor Elmar Dietz influenced him long term.

After obtaining his diploma, he returned to Bocholt and has been working there as a freelance sculptor since the 1980s. His focus is on the representation of groups of figures that are cast in bronze.
