Jürgen Willi Ernst Fassbender (born May 28, 1948 in Wesseling ) is a former German tennis player . Between 1968 and 1979 he played 23 Davis Cup appearances for Germany as well as 44 ATP finals in singles and doubles and was three-time German singles champion.

Career

Together with Hans-Jürgen Pohmann and Karl Meiler , Jürgen Faßbender was active in doubles in the 1970s. With Pohmann he reached the semi-finals of the French Open in 1973 and the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 1975 . In his career he was able to win 16 double titles (five with Pohmann and eight with Meiler) as well as one single title ( ATP Munich 1974). In the same year he received the Wimbledon fairness award.
